tools-to-secure-your-ipad  This is great advicefor iPad users who often feel vulnerable without the standard and well know security features offered by desktop PC.

So lets go on these five tools which can help you secure your iPad data:

Symantec VeriSign Identity Protection:
Symantec has announced the launch of Symantec VeriSign Identity Protection (VIP) Access for Mobile in the iPad. The technology protects iPad connectivity through a dynamic one-time-password (OTP) credential, which is opened using a username and password to strengthen the security of online accounts protected by the VIP Authentication Service. This will provide a second layer of security to iPad users.

Automatic Data Erasing:
If you want to keep your iPad safe, you need to know your data will be erased in case your system is stolen. You can configure the iPad to erase all user data on the device after 10 missed password attempts, simply by enabling automatic data erasing. While the iPad does not really erase the data, it does erase the key to the data which is actually stored on the iPad encrypted. So, if you do not have the key which decrypt's the data , then your data is lost also.

enable automatic data erasing on your ipad

1. Tap the Settings icon on the home screen

 2. Tap on “General”

3. Tap on “Passcode Lock”

4. Set a code if you have not already done so

 5. Tap Turn Passcode On

 6. Slide the bar on “Erase Data” to “On”

Now, all you have to do is not forget your password.

MobileMe:
Apple’s MobileMe service provides several tools for syncing, backing up and securing data. Find My iPad will be available immediately (go to me.com/find to try it), and your other information will be available as soon as iPad finishes the initial over-the-air sync with MobileMe So if you lost or somebody stole your iPad, you can access MobileMe from your PC and display the location of the device on a map in order to help you spot it. You can even set in motiona remote wipe of the device, thus removing all information, including all potentially sensitive information.
